I am a veterinarian. I apply holistic principles to my practice, be it conventional or alternative. My approach to medicine is the result of a history of study, practice and research.

I was raised among all sorts of animals on our family farm, in the mountains of central Colombia. Since my childhood I knew that I was going to be a vet. In my youth I managed the family’s dairy herd and took care of sick animals. I was inspired by my paternal grandmother, Cornelia Moncayo, who was a cattlewoman and a self-taught veterinarian – although she died long before I was born.

I attended the School of Veterinary Medicine at the National University of Colombia in Bogotá (Colombia), where I graduated as a veterinarian in 1987. In 1988 I came to Canada, obtained the practicing license with the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association (NSVMA), and began practicing with small and large animals.

See the 'About' page for information on veterinary acupuncture, homeopathy, and further credentials. Also see the 'Services' and 'Medical Library' pages for in-depth descriptions of treatments available.
